The College of Saint Rose will host a “Women in Sales” panel on October 4 from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in Touhey Forum, Thelma P. Lally School of Education, 1009 Madison Avenue, Albany. The purpose of the event is to create a dialogue around closing the gender gap in sales and encourage women to pursue this rewarding career field. The all-female panel consists of six successful sales professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise who will share their stories, successes, and challenges with navigating a competitive industry. The event is free and open to the public.

The panel is particularly timely as Saint Rose announced its new program in sales, the only such program in New York State, last year.

“Women can and do enjoy tremendous success in sales as a chosen career. This panel will reflect such success, but also address the many challenges that women are up against and create opportunities for change,” said Mark Michalisin, sales professional in residence at Saint Rose and organizer of the event. “These accomplished panelists will bring their unique perspectives to the table, and I hope our guests learn from them.”

Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco will kick off the event with opening remarks, welcoming panelists and guests. Panelists from the Huether School of Business include alum Erin Felix ‘16, a client relationship specialist for the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden who has broken multiple sales records at her organization, and Sharon Edwards-Grant, coordinator of internships and business relations at the Huether School.

Industry panelists include VQuesting Consulting CEO and founder Camerine Robinson, a 24-year sales professional in the health insurance industry; Morcon Tissue Vice President of Sales Laura Morris, who started at Morcon at age 16 and returned after college; Sandler Training Associate Lorraine Ferguson, author of “The Unapologetic Saleswoman” and internationally recognized business-development expert; and Cetera Investors’ (formerly Foresters Financial) Daria Schumacher, a 14-year employee who is currently the vice president of the Chairman’s Council 2018 and an investment advisor representative at the firm.

Moderating the panel is Dr. Lisa LaVigna, who has over 25 years of experience in various sales roles for organizations ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

A light continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. in Touhey Forum. The panel discussion begins at 8:15 a.m. Registration is available on Eventbrite.
