Emily Barcia-Varno ’18 was a finalist for the title of 2019 Albany Tulip Queen.

Shannon Nesterowicz ’18 is a process shift engineer with GlobalFoundries in Malta, New York.

Josephina Rivera ’17 is in Atlanta, Georgia, where she is working on her J.D. degree at Emory.

Alexandra von Stackelberg ’16 earned her J.D. from Albany Law School in Albany, New York. She will be teaching forensic psychology as an adjunct faculty member at Saint Rose in Fall 2019.

Courtney Carr ’15 began working as a social media and marketing specialist at Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bridgette Palmer G’15 was inducted as a student-athlete into the Utica College Pioneer Hall of Fame.

Nick Buonanno ’14 kicked off his new weekly column in the Troy Record by sharing a few thoughts on his experience going from a green cub reporter to an experienced columnist. “Nick on the Record” appears every Wednesday.

Alyssa Haddad ’14 saw her play, “Across the Aisle,” staged at Centenary University in Hackettstown, New Jersey, on April 24. The work, about a young, hip, interracial Brooklyn couple announcing to their families that they’re engaged, explores cultural and comic dimensions about creating a future with someone from a very different past.

Kim Moshier ’13 started working as an environmental specialist for the City of Newport News, Virginia.

Amy Nagoda ’13 began a new position as traffic manager at Scuf Gaming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brianna Wadsworth ’13 is working as a human resources generalist with Anderson-Negele in Fultonville, New York.

Lauren Cataldo Flanders G’10 is an HR business partner with Northern Rivers Family of Services in Albany, New York. She married Ken Flanders in September 2016.

2000s

Steven Dagostino ’08 was in the news for providing his expertise in skill development at the three-day USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team training camp in Minneapolis, which coincided with the NCAA Final Four.

Leslie Sandusky-Beltran ’08 began working as an instructor in the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology at New York University School of Medicine in New York City.

1990s

Scott Dellis G’94 began a new position with Ballston Spa Central School District, as supervisor of secondary special education. He had been with HFM BOCES as a teacher and administrator for the last 25 years.

Laurie (Johns) Henderson ’93 won the WEA Dedicated Educator Award 2019, given to a teacher with more than 15 years of service.

1980s

Denise Gacio Thomas ’89 was named a Campus Teacher of the Year for the Dripping Springs Independent School District. She teaches fifth grade in Walnut Springs Elementary School in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Eric Gloo ’87 is in Richfield Springs, New York, and has been self-employed as a piano tuner/technician since 1993. He is also a rehearsal accompanist for high school musicals since 2004, having completed his 38th musical in March of this year.

1970s

Sister of Providence Margaret McCleary ‘76 was feted for her 80th birthday at the Delaney House in Holyoke, Massachusetts, in late March. She is the founder of the Providence Ministries Network. The guest speakers for the birthday celebration included Mayor Alex Morse. The ministry McCleary established includes Kate’s Kitchen, Holyoke’s first soup kitchen that she opened in 1980; Loreto House, a transitional housing for homeless men that she opened in 1987, and the single-room occupancy Broderick House that dates to the same time.

1960s

The Neil Hellman Library, with contributions from all four deans, sponsored an undergraduate research award named after Sister Katherine McPeak ’61 – Saint Rose’s only librarian faculty emeritus. The awards were bestowed at the academic Convocation on April 12.
