A welcome dinner was held with Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco and Saint Rose community members in early December as part of the Sino-America Education Exchange Program.

In early December 2017, The College of Saint Rose hosted a delegation from China. Guests represented Chongqing Vocational College of Transportation, Heifei College of Finance and Economics, and Xinyang University. This visit was the part of the ongoing global outreach efforts that were laid out in the College’s strategic plan.

As a result of the productive visit, Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco recently signed three Memorandums of Understanding. These Memorandums of Understanding will enable further collaboration between the College’s four schools and the Chinese institutions.

Two colleges have expressed interest in sending qualified students to pursue the remaining two years of their bachelor’s degrees in computer science or in various business programs at Saint Rose after completing the first two years in China. One of the institutions is eager to send its best graduates to pursue a Master of Science in Education in Educational Psychology. Students from these Chinese colleges and universities could arrive at Saint Rose as early as Fall 2018.

“The Strategic Plan, which guides the College into its second century, calls for Saint Rose to become an institution that reflects, inspires, and empowers global connectedness,” Dr. Stefanco said. “We are thrilled by these partnerships with institutions in China and see them as the beginning of many more global engagements.”
