Join us for the Veterans Day Celebration at 10 a.m. November 10 at Riley Plaza.

On Friday, November 10, The College of Saint Rose will host a Veterans Day Celebration beginning with a flag-raising ceremony at 10 a.m. at Riley Plaza, located near the Events and Athletics Center.

The Albany High School Junior ROTC, Saint Rose Chapter of the Student Veterans of America, and Retired Colonel Martin Dinan, director of veteran enrollment at the College, will lead the flag-raising. The national anthem will be presented by The Girls Next Door. Taps will be played by Saint Rose students, as well.

Following the ceremony, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Captain Alicia Seda, of the New York Army National Guard, will share what being a veteran means to her. Seda served two tours in Afghanistan and is pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics at Saint Rose. Nancy Pantophlet, a social work student, Navy veteran, and member of the Saint Rose chapter of the Student Veterans Association, will offer her thoughts about how the association serves veterans. The talks will be held in Touhey Forum, Thelma P. Lally School of Education, 1009 Madison Ave., Albany.

A reception will follow and run until 1 p.m. at the Veteran Center, 967 Madison Ave., Albany. The reception also serves a chance to mark the 242nd birthday of the Marine Corps. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome.
