Dear Students, Staff, Faculty, and Administrators,

Like so many of you, I watched the events in Charlottesville unfold this past weekend and worried about the heart of our nation and its people. The College of Saint Rose condemns racism, bigotry, discrimination, and hate speech in every form, and by or against any group or individual. We seek to practice diversity, inclusion, equality, and understanding in all of our work, and believe in respectful conversation as a means to achieve beneficial social change.

Social justice is at the very core of The College of Saint Rose. It was and is in the spirit of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, who founded our institution resolute in their faith and values. Inclusion, and being a place of warm welcome for all, are among this institution’s greatest strengths. As we have for nearly a century, we will protect and celebrate our commitment to an inclusive campus and community. We will also redouble our efforts to ensure the success of all our students, as we work to carry out our mission each and every day.

This Fall, I am proud that we will welcome an incoming class that is the most diverse in the College’s history. This diversity enriches all of us and our learning community. It makes us stronger. At Saint Rose, there is a place for everyone.

Sincerely,

Carolyn
