Corset with Silk Ribbon, 1880s

January 5, 2017 — The Esther Massry Gallery at The College of Saint Rose presents the exhibition “Phantom Bodies: Photographs by Tanya Marcuse,” featuring 66 platinum and pigment prints in two series: “Undergarments and Armor” and “Wax Bodies.”

A gallery reception will be held Friday, January 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Massry Center for the Arts, 1002 Madison Ave., Albany, New York.  In addition, the artist will present a talk at 7 p.m. in Saint Joseph Hall Auditorium, 985 Madison Ave., Albany, New York.

“Phantom Bodies” opens Sunday, January 22, and continues through Sunday, February 26, at the Esther Massry Gallery. Gallery hours are: Monday–Saturday noon–5 p.m., Wednesday–Thursday noon–8 p.m., closed Sunday except January 22 and February 26. The gallery will be open for 1st Friday, February 3, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The exhibition is co-curated by Saint Rose art historian Dr. Lucy Bowditch.
