New Transfer Agreements with Columbia-Greene Community College

Saint Rose, Columbia-Greene Expand Opportunities to Earn Teaching Degrees

ALBANY (January 19, 2017) — New transfer agreements between The College of Saint Rose and Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson will expand opportunities for Hudson Valley students who want to turn a two-year degree in childhood education into a full bachelor’s degree.

The “articulation agreements” enable Columbia-Greene students who earn an associate degree in childhood education to transfer seamlessly to the Saint Rose bachelor of science in special education/childhood education programs in biology, English, mathematics or social studies.  The agreements spell out the specific courses that students should complete at Columbia-Greene and their equivalents at Saint Rose.  Graduates of the Columbia-Greene childhood education program will enter Saint Rose with junior status.

To help transfer students financially, Saint Rose offers guaranteed two-year undergraduate academic scholarships to those who have achieved superior grade-point averages for all previous college work.  Scholarships range up to $14,500 per year.  Transfer students who are current members of Phi Theta Kappa national honor society are eligible for an additional $1,000 each year.

The College of Saint Rose now has more than 100 transfer agreements with institutions throughout the Hudson and Mohawk valleys, Capital Region and beyond in such fields as education, business, computer science, music, art and psychology.  All are designed to help provide a clear path for students seeking to continue their education.

Saint Rose and Columbia-Greene Community College continue to explore opportunities for agreements between additional programs of study.
