Community Service Volunteers

Give Back, Saint Rose!

Community service is so central to The College of Saint Rose that we couldn’t celebrate our centennial without a commitment to give back. The 100 Hours of Service campaign asks Saint Rose community members — students, staff, faculty, administration, alumni, and families — to dedicate 100 hours to enriching their communities in both big and small ways. The campaign will kick off on September 12, 2020, with a virtual Reach Out Saint Rose Day and wrap up in June 2021 with a celebration.

We want to keep track of the number of volunteer hours our community members serve. So, please, remember to log your time over the next several months!

Log Your Hours

Participants will have the chance to log their community service hours online and celebrate their collective achievement in June 2021 when the campaign ends.

Your Guide to Serving

There are several ways to serve your community. What’s important is you pick an issue/cause you’re passionate about and put your best foot forward. This guide breaks down local and national opportunities in several areas, and provides ways to serve at all comfort levels.

Of course, due to the pandemic, community service might look a little differently this year than in years past. Do your best, and don’t forget to log your hours!

If you are getting groceries for your next-door neighbor who can’t go out or if you are driving someone else’s kids to soccer practice — that is service. That is being there for your neighbor”

Reach Out Saint Rose Hits the Road

Kick off the Campaign

Reach Out Saint Rose Hits the Road: Our tradition of Reach Out Saint Rose is reimagined in this 100-mile/500k Virtual challenge that kicks off on September 12, 2020 and ends December 12, 2020. Join us by walking, running, hiking, or skipping to the finish line — on your own time! Students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff are invited to “hit the road” while building community, promoting health and wellness, and celebrating our 100 years as a College and 25 years of Reach Out Saint Rose!

Why I Serve

Do you have a positive Saint Rose community service or volunteer experience you want to share? We’re looking for more community service stories to showcase for our #WhyIServe campaign.

These stories will be promoted on social media and fliers throughout campus and will help keep our community motivated throughout the year.
