AppAppeal Web 2.0 toolsAt The College of Saint Rose, we encourage innovative thinking. With that said, ITS cannot "support" or "suggest" the use of outside resources; we do not claim to be experts in all things. However, we are happy to provide our faculty and students with a list of educational web tools that we've encountered! Just keep one thing in mind: the existence of free internet-based services can change in a flash, so keep your plans flexible, as you may find websites that come and go with no warning.

Digital Storytelling...

Student Perspective VideoDigital storytelling is a phenomenon made possible by the internet. Digital stories can be an already published story/tale that is adapted to a new format or medium of teaching/learning and conveying content or they can be completely new. Good digital stories harness the power of our digital world by incorporating multimedia where plain old pictures once stood. This means audio, video, sound effects, interactive elements, decisions made by the reader (which directly to proceed), etc.

The perfect digital storytelling tool needs to be determined based on how and what the storyteller's goals are. Sometimes less is more - but not always! Explore these tools, and search for your own.
