• The 2012 U.S. News & World Report Best College’s Edition ranked The College of Saint Rose among the top 40, tied for 39th, “Regional Universities (North)” out of 172 colleges and universities in the “Best Regional Universities – North” category of institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s level programs. Factors in the ranking include the College’s 14:1 student faculty ratio and having no classes more than 50 students (0.1%). With its 67 undergraduate programs and 45 graduate programs, a highly credentialed faculty dedicated to teaching, and extensive internship requirements, Saint Rose is being recognized as a place where students excel and go on to prestigious doctoral programs and land career-track jobs in their fields.
  • When it comes to colleges that are great places to work, The College of Saint Rose is one of the “top-rated institutions.” So says The Chronicle of Higher Education, the leading national news source for higher education. For the third consecutive year, The Chronicle has named The College of Saint Rose a “Great College to Work For” and recognized Saint Rose on its National Honor Roll as one of the top 10 medium-sized colleges and universities cited the most in individual categories. Saint Rose is the only institution in New York’s Capital Region to be recognized in the survey.
  • In January 2010, The College’s $15 million Massry Center for the Arts was awarded “Gold” certification for Leadership in Environmental and Energy Efficient Design is Northeastern New York’s first non-residential new construction to be certified LEED Gold and, at 46,000 square feet, the largest. The designation certifies it as one of the region’s greenest and most energy-efficient buildings. Saint Rose achieved certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable development strategies.
  • Readers of a March 2010 business blog on www.TimesUnion.com named The College of Saint Rose “best” among eight of the Capital Region’s most prominent college campuses. With more than 17,000 votes cast, Saint Rose easily bested the second-place finisher by more than 1,000 votes.
  • In 2009, Metroland, a Capital Region newsweekly selected The College of Saint Rose as “Best College Campus (Urban) in the Capital Region.
  • In 2010, for the eleventh consecutive year, the Saint Rose graphic design program was listed as one of the top ten graphic design programs in the country by the Art Directors Club of New York, based on a review of student portfolios.
  • The American Institute for Economic Research ranked the New York state capital the 14th best place for students in small cities (250,000 to 1 million residents).  Ample arts, strong creative class and a beating entrepreneurial heart are just a few reasons Albany, New York was ranked one of the best places for college students, among other factors, a recent study reported.
