My name is Shai Butler and I serve as the Assistant to the President for Diversity at the College. The Diversity Office and the Office of Intercultural Leadership work to advance the institutional goals relevant to diversity, inclusion and community. The College of Saint Rose is committed to diversity and has as its stated goal a desire "To foster an awareness of and respect for diversity through curricular and extra-curricular activities, and through active efforts to encourage persons with various ethnic, religious, and personal backgrounds to join the college community".

We seek to establish an academic community and campus climate that encourages each member to develop intellectually, culturally, socially, and spiritually without impediment. I think that you will find in Saint Rose a place that will allow you to explore difference in a way that engages and challenges you, all in preparation toward finding your passion, gaining knowledge and living your purpose.

President's Leadership & Inclusive Excellence Award

Purpose of Award
Established in 2008, The College of Saint Rose’s President’s Leadership & Inclusive Excellence Award is designed to recognize, on an annual basis, two students who have made a significant contribution toward institutionalizing the mission and goals of our commitment to diversity. One award will be designated for an ALANA student who has exemplified campus involvement and leadership. The other award will be open to the entire student population and will honor an individual who has worked toward principles of inclusion, advancing the College’s diversity goals. Each award winner will receive a $300 award to be used at their discretion. Special recognition awardees will recieve a certificate from the President for their commitment to diversity.
