The Academic Success Center offers a variety of ways to help students achieve their academic goals.

Spring 2024 Tutoring Options:

Spring Tutoring will officially begin on Monday, January 29.  We will have onsite and online options available for tutoring.  The best way to see what’s available is to check your Navigate app.  Use the videos below to help you find the tutoring schedules and schedule a time to meet with a tutor if you’d like to do so.  Scheduling in advance is necessary for an online tutoring appointment in order to ensure the tutor can send you the zoom link ahead of time.  Drop-ins are always welcome in the Academic Success Center!

Study Clusters

Tutorial study clusters give students the opportunity to work through particularly demanding course work with the support of classmates and a peer tutor. Students experiencing difficulty with a particular course may contact Matt Woods at (518) 454-2177 to inquire about creating a study cluster.  All study clusters will be held online this semester.

You can request a study cluster here.

Individual Academic Counseling

Whether students need help tackling an important academic project or just some helpful study hints, individual academic counseling is available in the Academic Success Center. Students can meet with a professional who can help build skills, strategies, and behaviors that will increase learning potential.

College Skills Workshop

Various workshops are offered throughout the semester to help students meet the challenges of college course work.

Want tips for how to handle online courses?

The Counseling Center and the Academic Success Center have teamed up to create a tip sheet for you on how to succeed in an online course.  You can find that here.

You can also enroll in a Canvas course that guides you on how to work in an online environment here.

CDS 021: Strategies for College Success

A course designed to help those students on Academic Probation learn various techniques and strategies that will enhance study and achievement at the college level.
