Eligibility

To be eligible for this program the applicant must possess New York State Teaching Certification, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, have a minimum of three (3) years teaching or pupil personnel experience, and live and work south of Poughkeepsie, NY.*

*Please note: CITE programs do not accept transfer credit.*

Application steps for Your CITE Educational Leadership Certification

  1. Completed Graduate Application and $40 application fee.

  2. Statement of Purpose
    An effective Statement of Purpose will provide faculty reviewers with an understanding of the applicant’s objectives and motivation for pursuing a graduate degree or certificate. It will also describe how the program of study will meet the candidate’s personal goals for professional development. Your Statement of Purpose should not exceed 300 – 500 words.
  3. Official Transcript(s)
    Official transcript(s) from all colleges attended where a degree was conferred. Transcripts must have been issued within the past year and sent directly to the Graduate Admissions office. Both your bachelor’s and master’s transcripts are required. *At this time the College is accepting electronic transcripts.*
  4. Letters of Recommendation
    2 Letters of recommendation must be submitted from professional sources. At least 1 letter must be completed by a Principal, Assistant Principal, or Superintendent. These letters may be submitted either through the online application, emailed to grad@strose.edu, or if a hard-copy letter is being submitted, it must be physically signed and arrive on official letterhead, in a signed and sealed envelope. If a hardcopy letter is being submitted it should accompany this downloadable form.
  5. Resume
    A current resume is required for all programs.
  6. NYSED certificate
    A copy of your current NYSED certificate as a teacher or pupil personnel professional
  7. Internship Commitment Form
    This form must be signed by a Principal from the location where the internship will take place.
  8. Immunization Form
    This form must be completed prior to admission.
    (Applicants born prior to January 1, 1957 must sign and submit the form but are not required to provide document of immunity.)
  9. Interview
    Please contact CITE immediately, please do not wait until the deadline or until you have a completed application. Call now to set up your interview appointment! An interview is required as part of the application process. Applicants are responsible for contacting CITE at (516) 221-2936 to arrange an interview.
