Jimmy Fallon, host of “The Tonight Show” is without doubt, the College’s most famous alumnus. Jimmy started at Saint Rose in 1992, but a semester shy of graduation, he took a chance and moved to New York City, and then on to Los Angeles, to pursue his dream to be on “Saturday Night Live (SNL).” Due to his sheer talent, persistence and tenacity, Jimmy landed his dream job on SNL and his career was born. During the next decade, Jimmy established himself as a highly talented writer, comic, and impersonator. He appeared in comedy club tours, on SNL, in numerous major motion pictures, and hosted national TV specials including the MTV music awards and the 62nd Prime Time Emmy Awards in 2010. In 2011, Jimmy was nominated for an Emmy award along with chief writer and fellow Saint Rose communications major Gerard Bradford ’96. In 2009, the College approved his application for credit though portfolio of work assessment, enabling him to complete his B.A. degree in communications. He was also one of the 2009 commencement speakers, earning an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, which always hung on the set of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
