The College of Saint Rose Doctors' Guild

Sister Tess Wysolmerski, CSJ, Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences gave birth to this new idea to reconnect science alumni professionals who are Doctors of Medicine, Doctors of Philosophy, in specialized areas and Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry. The purpose of the Guild is to act as an association of professionals formed to reconnect with college friends, former staff and faculty and to learn about the new advances in the sciences at The College of Saint Rose. Members will network so as to advance and exchange ideas among themselves and to communicate and foster friendly relationships with undergraduate and graduate students of The College of Saint Rose.

RATIONALE FOR FORMING THE GUILD…

Our science graduates, are so spread out around the world, that each hardly knows what world-wide societal contributions fellow alums are making within their careers. No matter where EACH SCIENCE ALUM IS – THE DOCTORS‘ GUILD WILL REACH OUT TO EACH SCIENCE PROFESSIONAL. Just imagine being able to exchange professional ideas and chat with a former room-mate, lab partner, internship director, faculty member etc. and to learn about the advances EACH HAS made in medicine, industry, education, business, research etc. It is Sister Tess‘ conviction that reconnecting with alumni who share her dedication and love for their undergraduate Saint Rose foundation and for their profession are reasons in themselves. Additionally, it's a networking real and tangible opportunity that can't be beat. It is time to spread the Saint Rose science alumni successes, throughout our campus, other college campuses, and civic, local and national arenas.

Saint Rose science graduates are on the forefront of medicine/research/education in at least 20 different states as well as abroad. At future meetings the Guild members will plan their re-connecting activities with the spirit of Saint Rose as their motivating force.
