Breaking News!

The students and faculty in the Department of Psychology at Saint Rose are frequently seen reporting the results of their scholarship across the country and volunteering their time and expertise across upstate New York. From prestegious awards to community service, these shared activities (students and faculty) enrich the educational experience at Saint Rose and deepen the relationships between the Department of Psychology and the upstate New York community. Students and faculty have been recognized in a variety of different ways, some of which are reported below.

Student Research Grant

Congratulations to Lindsey Noble who was one of 2 recipients selected for a Psi Chi/Council for Undergraduate Research grant from across the nation. Lindsey will be using this grant to support her research this summer on memory reconsolidation.

Faculty Research Grant

Dr. Flint, a behavioral neuroscientist in the Department of Psychology, received a 2 year equipment grant from the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience and San Diego Instruments. With this grant Dr. Flint will be working with his students to investigate the neural mechanims of learning.

New Research Honors Concentration for Undergraduate Psychology Majors!!!

Students may now select to complete a Research Honors Concentration. This special "Honor" will appear on the student's transcript and raises the visibility of exceptional undergraduate research for future employers and graduate school admissions committees.

Research Presentation in Barcelona, Spain

Leslie Sandusky, Saint Rose Psychology graduate and current doctoral student in Neuroscience at SUNY Albany, presented research at the XXVth International Symposium on Cerebral Blood Flow, Metabolism and Function and the Xth International Conference on Quantification of Brain Function with PET.

2011 New Psi Chi Members

Congratulations to the 2011 Psi Chi - The International Honor Society for Psychology inductees. Parents, students, Psi Chi officers, and faculty were present at the induction ceremony this spring honoring these students who who have excelled academically. Dr. Ellen Cole was the guest speaker at the induction ceremony.
