Minor in Computer Science (18 - 21 credits)

In the recent past,many students have found it useful to pair a Computer Science minor with their major. Any CIS course can be included in the minor,but it would be impossible to do a minor without including CIS202.

Students must take six CIS courses to qualify for a minor.

If a student is most interested in a strong computer science background,we would recommend the
following courses: CIS 202, CIS 302, CIS 332, CIS 431, CIS 432, and CIS 433.

If a student is most interested in computer game design,we would recommend the following courses:
CIS 202, CIS 205, CIS 302, CIS 305, CIS 404, and CIS 405.

If a student is interested in bioinformatics,we would recommend the following courses: CIS 202,CIS
302, CIS 321, CIS 342, CIS 414, and CIS 415.

If a student is interested in Internet development,we would recommend the following courses: CIS
202, CIS 302, CIS 321, CIS 355, CIS 404, and CIS 455.

If a student is most interested in hardware,we would recommend the following courses: CIS 202,CIS
332, CIS 344, CIS 444, CIS 451, and CIS 452.

If a student is most interested in programming, we would recommend the following courses: CIS
202, CIS 205, CIS 302, CIS 305, and two other programming courses.
