Schemes in Educational Psychology

Scheme I
This is our general educational psychology scheme, which students usually choose when seeking professional certification as a preK-12 public school teacher in NY. A selection of elective courses is offered in the areas of behavioral management, development, diversity, educational administration, educational technology, learning and motivation, and school counseling or psychology. Students interested in this scheme should consult the graduate catalog for specifics.
Scheme II
This is our research scheme, which students usually choose when seeking a career in educational research, or as a stepping stone for admission into a doctoral program in educational psychology at another institution. Students who choose this option will become trained in conducting qualitative and quantitative research under the supervision of an educational psychology faculty member. Students interested in this scheme should consult the graduate catalog for specifics.
Scheme III
This is our school psychology scheme, which students usually choose when seeking a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) in School Psychology. Foundational courses are geared toward meeting the requirements of the National Association for School Psychologists (NASP), from which the program has received accreditation. Students interested in this scheme should visit the separate link for the program of School Psychology, as well as consult the graduate catalog for specifics.
Scheme IV
This is our newest scheme in the field of program evaluation and applied research. Students usually choose this scheme when seeking a career in program evaluation for educational, commercial, non-profit, and/or governmental agencies. Courses, combined with a practicum, teach students how to judge the worth of a program based on objectives and outcomes, where they gain real-life experience in using theory to conduct program evaluation and develop/use/analyze tests and measurements for outcomes assessment. Students interested n this scheme should consult the graduate catalog for specifics.
