BUS494 - Honors Internship Program

The College of Saint Rose Huether School of Business has initiated an Honors Internship Program enabling students to compete full-time summer internship experiences with national or regional organizations.

The Honors Internship Program provides an Academic Scholarship for the credit-bearing summer experience and a limited number of Internship Stipends from the College of Saint Rose to assist with expenses. The School has and is continuing to recruit several Honors Internship Partners who will provide quality professional experiences for student interns. The final selection of Honors Interns will be determined by the Company. This internship experience will allow each student to actively engage in his or her own professional and personal growth.

The College of Saint Rose Honors Business Internship is structured to:

•Provide internship credit for approved work opportunities to allow student interns to apply theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom
•Provide an Academic Scholarship for the credit-bearing summer experience and a limited number of Internship Stipends from Saint Rose to assist with expenses
•Provide exposure to professional work relative to student’s major through meaningful work-related assignments
•Provide students the ability to explore career options
•Assist the intern in developing professional networks
•Develop and sharpen business skills
•Gain a competitive edge for permanent employment

Internships are a requirement of business majors in the Huether School of Business. The goal of the program is to provide the student with on-the-job experience supervised by successful, experienced professionals and to develop future leaders in business. The College of Saint Rose provides instruction and other education programs designed to enhance understanding of economic concepts, to increase knowledge of innovations in business, to develop professionalism and professional ethics. The internship program is an important part of the Huether School of Business’ effort to provide students with the opportunity to merge academic-related studies with work-related assignments.

To be eligible for the Honors Internship Program you must meet all of the following requirements:

•A minimum overall GPA of 3.3
•Absent of any academic integrity issues
•The Summer of 2012 is between your Junior and Senior year (expected graduation December 2012 or May 2013)
