SAINT ROSE CENTER FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA

The College of Saint Rose has tranformed its former Music Center into the Center for Communications and Interactive Media (CCIM), a technologically advanced multimedia home for its distinguished communications and music industry programs. The 20,000 square-foot facility, located in the southwest corner of the Saint Rose campus, houses new TV and Internet radio studios, a live performance recording studio (Jack's Place), viewing room, multimedia computer labs and faculty offices. It joins the Massry Center for the Arts and the Campus Theatre to form an arts and communications campus at Saint Rose.

“The breakneck pace of change in the communications and music entertainment industries presents both challenges and opportunities. This new building provides more than just a desired space – it creates a new interactive environment, capturing the exciting synergy of evolving industries. The new center will be an incubator for ideas that will have impact on future jobs in the world of communications and music,” said Saint Rose President Dr. R. Mark Sullivan.

Features of the new facility:

• State-of-the-art digital, high-definition TV and Internet radio studios, which will enable development of additional programming and new courses in New Media Production and Digital Video Production;

• Jack's Place, a live performance recording studio and lab where contemporary music by new and emerging artists can be presented and recorded digitally;

• Viewing room with a commercial-grade video projector and sound system for screening films and student-produced videos;

• Music recording studios and control and post-production rooms;

Saint Rose Music Industry Program

The College’s music industry program dates back to the late 1970s, when Saint Rose first offered a degree in music with a specialization in multi-track recording. Today’s music industry students, now numbering 75, take on entrepreneurial roles and develop the multifunctional talents necessary in real-world music and entertainment careers.
