Professor Gariba Abdul-Korah received his B.A. (History & Archaeology) from the University of Ghana in 1990, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis as a McArthur Scholar. He joined the Department of History and Political Science at The College of Saint Rose in 2004 and teaches various graduate and undergraduate courses in African and African-American history. His research interests focus broadly on issues of migration, gender and the family economy, identity politics and development; women and sustainable development; ethnic conflict and security in Africa. He is also interested in international labor policies, human rights, child labor and human trafficking. His publications include, “Where Is Not Home?: Dagaaba Migrants in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana” in African Affairs, “Ka Bi Ba Yor: Labor Migration among the Dagaaba” in Nordic Journal of African Studies, and encyclopedia entries on Ghana’s Geography and Economy. Professor Abdul-Korah holds membership in the African Studies Association, Association of Third World Studies, American Historical Association and the Ghana Studies Council
