Ana Sánchez-Catena received her B.A. in English from the Universidad de Granada (Spain). While doing her graduate work on Chicana literature, she visited the University of Delaware as an exchange scholar, where she obtained an M.A. in Spanish Studies with a concentration on Latin American Literature. She graduated as a
Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a dissertation on contemporary Spanish culture entitled "Singing/Telling the 80s..." Her specialization is modern and contemporary Peninsular Spanish literature.
