Internships and Careers

What can you do with an English degree?

Students in the English Department develop a comprehensive background--skills in literary studies, close analysis of texts, writing, and public speaking--that prepares them for a variety of fields.

Our majors move onto careers in publishing, editing, journalism, advertising, library and information sciences, broadcasting, teaching on all levels, technical writing, creative writing, advertising, public relations, and a wide variety of administrative positions in business, government, and human service. They are also well prepared for graduate study in English, law, and other fields.
