The Call to Leadership

Leadership for a change is more than just a slogan for the Institute—it means doing things differently.

The Institute’s Call to Leadership Program is a 24-credit 18 month program for aspiring school leaders who seek New York State School Building Leader Certification.

The Call to Leadership Program includes the following features:

• Cohort model—allowing aspiring school leaders to develop a network that will provide support as candidates seek positions as administrators.
•Classes are scheduled predominantly on weekends.
•Two-day shadowing experience, to be completed during the first six credits of the program, allowing aspiring school leaders to see first hand the daily life of a school administrator early on in the program.
•District support for candidates’ application, allowing aspiring school leaders to receive mentoring and other learning opportunities.
•Books, materials, meals, and parking permit included in program cost
