Time Warner Cable Teacher Training Center

Time Warner Cable Logo 1The College of Saint Rose and Time Warner Cable have teamed up to provide training for teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The training will assist teachers to foster, in their students, a curiosity and excitement for learning math, science, and technology. Funded by a grant from Time Warner Cable, as part of their Connect a Million Minds Initiative, the College of Saint Rose is developing the Time Warner Teacher Training Center.

The Training Center will offer professional development programs in STEM disciplines to teachers in the region. Saint Rose faculty will conduct three-day training conferences during the summer and professional development workshops during the academic year, which will include inquiry-based and problem-based teaching techniques. In addition, the College will develop podcasts and On-Demand Videos to be available throughout Time Warner Cable’s cable and Internet systems.

Saint Rose and Time Warner Cable anticipate reaching 150 teachers from various local school districts, ultimately impacting nearly 6,000 children.
