Welcome to the second volume of the Center for Citizenship, Race, and Ethnicity Studies' Working Papers Collection. This collection contains work based on colloquia presentations that CREST's Fellows, as well as its Director gave during the academic year 2007-2008.

We have assembled this collection of working papers to help stimulate discussion on the topics and ideas raised by the authors of these works, as well as to receive feedback to facilitate further revisions and explorations. I urge you to directly contact the authors of these essays after having read the papers in this collection. It is CREST's intention that the works of the CREST Fellows contained herein serve as a beginning of inquiry, not the culmination
