How Should We Understand the Roberts Court? Lessons From Law, History, and Political Science

Dr. Scott Lemieux, Assistant Professor in the History and Political Science Department at The College of Saint Rose, delivered the Fifth Annual Kermit Hall Memorial Lecture in celebration of Constitution Day to 75 enthusiastic faculty members, administrators, students, and community members on Thursday, September 16, 2010. College President Mark Sullivan started the the proceedings with a few words about the late president of SUNY Albany and noted constitutional scholar Dr. Kermit Hall. Marda Mustapha of the History and Political Science Department introduced Scott Lemieux.


Lemieux is an assistant professor of political science at Saint Rose. He studies public law, constitutional law, comparative law and institutions, and American politics. He has published extensively in such scholarly journals as Polity, Studies in Law, Politics and Society, the Journal of Supreme Court History, the Maryland Law Review and the American Journal of Comparative Law. He also contributes to the American Prospect and the Guardian Online, as well as the thought-provoking blog “Lawyers, Guns and Money.” Lemieux holds a doctorate from the University of Washington.
