The Patricia Standish Curriculum Library houses over 12,000 resources and hands-on materials to support undergraduate and graduate studies within The School of Education. Students can major in teacher education, literacy and special education, communication sciences and disorders, counseling and education administration, and educational/school psychology and applied technology. The Curriculum Library is conveniently located on the second floor of the Thelma P. Lally School of Education building. Educational theory books and journals can be found at the Neil Hellman Library.
Highlights of the Curriculum Library collection include:
- books full of ideas for lesson plans (preK-12) and therapy sessions, as well as teacher certification exam practice guides
- including picture books, big books, and chapter books
- nonfiction books in all curriculum areas
- a special collection of picture books, fiction, and information books donated by Charles Touhey
- such as science experiments, storytelling kits, speech therapy flash cards, math counters, primary source materials for social studies themes, and self-esteem programs
- in all subject areas K-12
- including leveled readers (1-20), phonics readers, and high interest-low vocabulary readers
- with ideas for teachers, such as Bookbag, AIMS, and Science Teacher
Other features of the Curriculum Library include:
- a collection of cutting dies for use in creating bulletin boards
- a graphics software program that contains a large number of picture communication symbols
- with Internet access and the Microsoft Suite; test scoring software for the BASC II, KABC II, KTEA II, WJ III, WIAT II is also loaded on some computers - ask at the circulation desk (See the Computer Use Policy under policies)
You must have a valid College of St. Rose ID to check out materials from the Curriculum Library. In addition, to check out a test/assessment you must be on a current class list submitted in writing by a College of St. Rose professor.

As a limited resource, the library computers are primarily reserved for use by Saint Rose students and staff. However, when available, the library’s open computers may be used by individuals who do not hold Saint Rose identification cards if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Alumni of The College of Saint Rose
- Current college students with valid ID cards from other institutions
- Holders of a valid CDLC Direct Access card who are 18 years or older
Eligible users can ask to be logged onto computers by staff at the circulation desk - please be prepared to show proof of eligibility.
