Golden Knights Bragging Rights

The College of Saint Rose athletics program offers 17 intercollegiate sports at the NCAA Division II level (M/W Cross Country, Men’s Golf, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Volleyball, M/W Soccer, M/W Basketball, M/W Swimming and Diving, M/W Indoor Track, M/W Outdoor Track, Baseball, Softball). The College also offers several intramural programs throughout the academic year.

Other affiliations include: the 15-team Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Saint Rose crowned two NE-10 regular-season champions during the past year: Women’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball

Brandon Birchak captured the College’s first National Championship in any sport in March of 2007 after winning the one and three-meter diving events at the NCAA II Swimming and Diving Championships.

NCAA Tournament appearances of Saint Rose teams in the last four years:

  • Women’s Soccer (3)
  • Volleyball (2)
  • Men’s Basketball (2)
  • Women’s Basketball (2)
  • Swimming and Diving (Two individual qualifiers/four consecutive years)
  • Golf (one individual qualifier/two consecutive years).

Saint Rose has produced five All-Americans during the past two years.

  • Brandon Birchak (men’s swimming & diving)
  • Stephanie Brink (women’s volleyball)
  • Steve Dagostino (men’s basketball)
  • Matt Kavanagh (men’s swimming & diving)
  • Kylee Litchfield (women’s soccer)

Three student-athletes have garnered national recognition for both academic and athletics excellence throughout the past year.

  • Lindsay Bove (women’s soccer)
  • Brad Lewis (men’s cross country/track & field)

Thirty-four student-athletes have been named NE-10 All-Academic in recognition of academic and athletic excellence throughout the past two years.

Twenty- four percent (58 of 244) of Saint Rose student-athletes were named to the Dean’s List (3.5 or higher GPA with a minimum 12 credit hours) for the spring 2007 semester
