Brian Gordon
Senior Associate Athletics Director


Brian Gordon was named the Senior Associate Athletics Director at The College of Saint Rose on October 30, 2007. A 1979 graduate of Rider University, Gordon oversees many different areas of the College's intercollegiate athletics department and is heavily involved in department-wide fundraising, marketing and promotions, game day management, securing corporate sponsorships and the athletics booster club.

Gordon arrives at the College having served as General Manager of the Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club in Houston for the past three years. The club, which recently completed a building project that added a third pool to its property to support the growing demand for instructional needs, has won three straight Speedo Sectional Championships and has emerged as one of the top programs within Gulf Swimming.

Prior to his tenure at Cypress-Fairbanks, Gordon was a successful swimming and diving coach at the club, intercollegiate and national level. He got his start as an assistant coach at Harvard University in 1979 and spent two years with the Crimson before becoming the associate head coach at the University of Alabama. He subsequently helped guide the Crimson Tide to three Southeastern Conference Championships within a six-year span.

The lengthiest stint of his career began in 1987 when he took over as Head Coach at Bowling Green State University. Gordon developed 29 individual Mid-American Conference champions, mentored 14 Academic All-Americans and garnered MAC Coach of the Year accolades on two occasions throughout his nine years with the Falcons. By the time of his departure in 1996, Gordon had recorded the most wins in women's swimming history at Bowling Green.

Gordon returned to his alma mater in 1997 as both the Director of Aquatics and Head Coach of the swimming and diving programs. He compiled a 53-34 dual meet record as 34 student-athletes were crowned MAAC Champions during his coaching tenure at Rider. Gordon moved on to become the Assistant Athletics Director at the University where he helped oversee 20 intercollegiate sports with involvement in fundraising and game-day management in addition to special events.

Gordon has had involvement with USA Swimming's National teams serving on staffs that have represented the United States at the Pan American Games, World University Games and Pan Pacific Championships. He has also served as a commentator for swimming events on ESPN and with the former U.S. Olympic Gold Series on Turner Sports. Gordon was a member of NBC Sports production staff for four Olympic Games from 1988 to 2000.

Gordon holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Rider University.
