Jacob VanRyn is in his third year as the Athletics Facilities, Marketing and Programming Director at The College of Saint Rose. VanRyn oversees game-day operations, implements and directs an intramural program, and assists with various marketing activities.

VanRyn has handled the play-by-play responsibilities for the Saint Rose basketball radio broadcasts from 2001-05.  He also served as the color commentator for the Golden Knights during the 2000-01 campaign.

Furthermore, VanRyn works on the radio broadcast team for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League. In the past, he has done radio and television work for the Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 and has also served as the lead play-by-play man for the Northeast-10 Conference’s college football and basketball package.

He also worked for the Indiana Firebirds of the Arena Football League and the former Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs of baseball’s Northern League.

VanRyn earned a bachelor’s degree in education and sociology from Colgate University in 1999. Two years later, he received a master’s in broadcast journalism from Boston University.
