pm
Stop-Motion is an art form dating back to the beginning of motion
pictures, in which an object is manipulated, one frame at a time,
to create the illusion of movement. The effect has been created
using non-hardening clay, aluminum wire, and ball & socket armatures
in movies such as Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, and
Wallace & Grommit. This course will discuss the styles, techniques,
and processes to creating a stop-motion animation. Students will
learn story boarding, character development, performance, working
with clay, armature design, building sets, digital camera work,
and digital editing to produce their own stop animation project.
