The field experience in the teacher certification programs in the School of Education provides the candidates with an integrated set of experiences that culminate in student teaching. All field experiences are integrated within the context of required coursework and enable the candidate to have the opportunity to acquire practice and refine specific skills under the direct supervision of college faculty who are teaching the course and cooperating professionals with whom the candidate is placed. Candidates are expected to provide documentation of their field experience activities. The following documents must be completed for every field experience. Additional documentation may be required by individual course instructors. A copy of the Field Experience Evaluation and Time Sheet will be kept in the student's Placement Office File. In addition to providing the student with feedback on his/her performance, these documents also serve as a means of tracking the types of experience completed (i.e. Disabilities, ESL, Parents, and High Needs).
