  Saint Rose Academics

The College of Saint Rose is accredited by the Board of Regents of the State of New York and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Many of our academic departments hold prestigious additional accreditations including art, business, communication disorders, music and social work .

The College’s 66 undergraduate programs combine intellectual growth and learning with career preparation and are built on a foundation of study in the arts and sciences that create a context for advanced study in the major. Liberal education courses are characterized by attention to such skills as writing, critical thinking and information literacy. The College strives to offer courses, programs and other opportunities (such as study abroad) that nurture value formation, spiritual development and responsible citizenship and well as an awareness of and respect for diversity.

The College’s 45 Graduate programs and 12 certificate programs are designed to move students to advanced levels in their chosen fields. Such specialization involves quantitative and qualitative increase in knowledge, the ability to critique and synthesize, and familiarity with the principles, ethical issues and histories of the chosen disciplines. Students will be asked to conduct and report on original research and will be challenged to balance their professional development with an increased awareness of and concern for the needs of society.

The Exploratory Program
With so many career choices and options available to you, it's understandable that you might have difficulty choosing a major. At Saint Rose we won't let you wander through the halls of academia as "undeclared" or "undecided"—instead, we will welcome you as one of our Exploratory Program students. The Exploratory Program is a curriculum designed to assist you as you make this important decision by providing support and guidance. You will benefit from workshops at the College's Career Development Center and you will be assigned an academic advisor who has been specially trained to work with students just like you—students interested in exploring their academic options.
