Music Department:
Summer Jazz Program
The Saint Rose Summer Jazz Program
is beginning its twentieth season of providing rehearsal and
performance opportunities for area high school and junior
high musicians.
When is the Program?
Running from June 25 until
August 3, the program is comprised of two 18-piece
jazz ensembles. One band (for students going into grades 7-9)
will rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-8
p.m. The other band (for students going into grades 10-12)
will meet every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Public concerts will be presented on Sunday July 15
and on Friday August 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Who can attend the Program?
The Saint Rose Summer Jazz Program gives area school musicians
an opportunity to continue developing their musical skills
throughout the summer and provides them with valuable performance
opportunities. You will be rehearsing and performing with
other student musicians who, like you, enjoy music so much
that they don’t want to neglect their performance skills
during the summer. Our combination of rehearsals and performances
ensure that your musical skills will continue to improve.
You do not have to participate for the entire six weeks. Many
of our participants leave at various points throughout the
summer for vacations and to take part in other activities.
How do I register?
Please download
form and return it to register. The groups fill up pretty
fast so you are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Tuition for the six-week program is $235.00. In the event
that something else comes up that makes it impossible for
you to participate, your tuition will be refunded to you.
Make checks for $235.00 made payable to
