How do I change my major?
First, you must talk to your advisor to make sure that the decision is best for you and that you are aware of any schedule changes. In order to change a major, a change of major form must be completed. Pick up a copy in the Office of Academic Advising or online. Early Childhood, Childhood, Special Education, and CSD majors must go to the Field Placement office in Lally.

How do I declare a concentration/major?
In order to declare a concentration or a major, complete a change of major form. Pick up a copy in The Office of Academic Advising or online. If you have any questions regarding this change, make sure you talk to your advisor. Early Childhood, Childhood, Special Education, and CSD majors must go to the Field Placement office in Lally.

Can I withdraw from a class?
Withdrawal from a class is allowed. Information regarding course withdrawal is available in the Student Solution Center. When withdrawing from a class, you will receive a W on your transcript. An F may be recorded instead of a W if withdrawal deadlines have passed. If you do not fill out the appropriate form (available in the Student Solution Center and The Office of Academic Advising), and simply stop going to the class you will receive an F on your transcript. How do I drop/add classes?
You must add or drop a full-semester course before or during the first calendar week of the semester. This can be done online or in person at the Student Solution Center. During this period, courses dropped will not be recorded on your transcript. Please check the course listing and the Student Solution Center for dates to add or drop half-semester, weekend and summer session classes. The deadline for this action can be found on the Important Dates page.

When are the deadlines?
There are deadlines for pass/fail, add/drop, course withdrawal and other important events. The deadlines can be found on the Important Dates page.

What is Advisement Day?
Advisement Day is one day of each semester that is set aside for students to meet with their advisors. Be sure to check the academic calendar for specific dates. Day and evening lasses are cancelled so that students can attend a previously assigned time to discuss the upcoming semester with their advisors. Students must sign up for an appointment at least one week before advisement day. Meeting with an advisor is mandatory. Advisors assign alternate pin numbers for registration during this meeting. What to bring: questions, concerns, 2 or 3 possible schedules for the upcoming semester, academic progress report.

Who is my advisor?
Advisors are assigned based on major. Your first semester at Saint Rose, you will receive a letter informing you of your advisor’s name and office location. You must meet with your assigned advisor on advisement day, or any additional times that they feel necessary. Your advisor is also the person who can give you your alternate pin number, which is required for registration.

Can I change my advisor?
You have the option to change your advisor. When changing a major requires a new advisor, the change will be made automatically. If you would like to change your advisor for additional reasons, you must fill out a change of advisor form.

When can I register?
Every semester has a designated registration schedule. You will receive a registration time in the mail telling them the exact day and time that they will register. Registration times are assigned based on accumulated credits and year and can not be changed. You must contact the Registrar’s Office if you do not receive your letter in the mail.

How do I register?
Students register online or at the Student Solution Center. Online registration is encouraged. In order to register online, you need your alternate pin number which you must obtain from your academic advisor. Directions to register online can be found here.

What is and how do I print my Academic Progress Report?
An Academic Progress Report outlines all of the requirements of your major, concentration, and minor. The report shows the courses you have taken, and when they were completed. Academic Progress Reports should be brought to meetings with advisors, especially on advisement day. It can also be used to check for updates in change of major, concentration, minor, or advisor. What about my Math Placement Exam Score?
You scores determine which math and/or science courses that you are eligible to take. If you need a copy of your score contact The Office of Academic Advising. If you need to re-take your Math Placement Exam for a better score, please contact The Academic Support Center at 454-5299 or check out their website.
