Cross-Registration

  1. Home Students
    1. Begin at the Student Service Center, Albertus Hall Room 208, and pick up the Hudson Mohawk Association Cross-Registration form.
    2. Fill out the form and get the signature of your academic advisor.
    3. Bring the form to the Registrar's Office, Albertus Hall Room 207, and obtain the signature of the appropriate Assistant Registrar.
    4. Bring the form with you to the host institution, register for the course(s) and obtain a signature on the form. (Prior to registering make sure to contact the school and find out when/where cross-registrants are permitted to register).
    5. Bring the completed form back to the Student Service Center, Albertus Hall Room 208, and register there for the course as well.
    6. Students will not be permitted to cross-register for courses that appear in The College of Saint Rose catalog.
    7. Grades for cross-registration are recorded in the same manner as courses taken at Saint Rose. Pass/Fail grades are recorded as such, but no quality points are assigned for such grades. Saint Rose will accept a 'D' grade when the course is taken through cross-registration. Courses are accepted for the number of credit hours assigned by the host campus.

  2. Visiting Students
    1. Bring the Hudson Mohawk Association Cross-Registration form with the appropriate signatures from your home institution to the Student Service Center, Albertus Hall Room 208, to register for the course. (Course offering information is also available in this office).
    2. Registration dates for visiting students are listed in the course-offering brochure, but are generally the Friday before classes begin each semester. Visiting students should come to the Student Service Center in person.
    3. Prior to registering, visiting students are not required to obtain any Saint Rose signature unless a course is listed "by permission only".
    4. Transcripts/grades are sent to the student's home Registrar automatically.
    5. Student teaching at all levels is closed to cross-registrants, as are all methods courses, studio art courses, and sign language courses.

Cross-Registration Guidelines
The following conditions apply to all students who wish to use the Cross-Registration option:

  1. You must be a full time matriculated student and take at least one-half of your semester load at your home campus.

  2. You must have the approval of your home campus.

  3. The course(s) must be one that is NOT AVAILABLE to you on your home campus.

  4. Please NOTE: even if you have the "permission of the instructor" at the host school, you must still go through the Registrar’s Office to be considered "registered" in a course.

  5. You will be responsible for the attendance and academic requirements of the course even if home and host calendars do not coincide.

  6. Your signature on the Cross-Registration form is considered approval for grades/transcripts to be automatically sent to your home insitutiton at the end of the semester.

  7. YOU are responsible for notifying the registrars on BOTH campuses if you withdraw from a course(s). Failure to do so can result in an Academic "F" from the host institution.

  8. Your signature on the Cross-Registration form indicates your agreement to abide by all regulations imposed by the host institution (parking, attendance, library rules, etc.) In addition, the host institution may apply rules and regulations to incoming students as it deems necessary. Be sure you are aware of those rules before you cross-register.

  9. Home campus students have priority for all courses at the college or university, so popular courses may be closed to cross-registrants because of space limitations.

  10. Mini-semester, January term, and Summer Session are not covered by the general cross-registration agreement although special arrangements exist between various campuses.

  11. All fees in excess of tuition are also the responsibility of the student, ie., lab fees, etc.
