When should I take the LSAT exam?
Take it early and often; your highest score is the one that counts and practice makes perfect.
Here’s a schedule to help you decide when you need to take it: 1.. Sign up with LSDAS between three and six months prior to the scheduled date for the LSAT. (Dr. Weed has application books and applications for fee waivers.)
2. Plan to take the LSAT:
Freshmen in 3+3 program: Before February 2010 Take it by June, September or December 2009
Sophomores (not in 3+3 program) : Before Feb 2010 Take it by June September or December 2009
Juniors (not in 3+3 program) Before February 2009 Take it by June, September or December 2008
What should I do to get ready for the LSAT?
The more the better! The LSAT is heavily a logic test. Take some of the following St. Rose Classes:
MAT 130 Intro. to Mathematical Thought PHI 330 Philosophy of Law PHI 141 Critical Thinking PHI 142 Symbolic Logic
Take a Kaplan LSAT Prep Course:
Kaplan has an office at Executive Park Drive, Stuyvesant Plaza Call them at 1-800-KAP-TEST or look them up at www.kaptest.com
To get into a law school, you want to aim to score over 153 on the LSAT. To get scholarship money, aim for over 160, and to have a choice of top schools, aim for over 170.
