Location: Events an Athletics Center, Standish Conference Room 2 Thursday, April 3, 7:30 p.m.: Frequency North "Frequency North," the aggressively eclectic visiting writers reading series at The College of Saint Rose, wraps up its third season with Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz, founder and host of the three-time National Poetry Slam Championship venue in New York, and Shappy Seasholtz, slam poet, playwright, comedian, actor and head bartender at New York’s Bowery Poetry Club. Location: Neil Helman Library Tuesday, April 8, 7:30 p.m. The 2007-2008 Saint Rose Film Festival Presents "In Good Conscience " Location: Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary Thursday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m.: Interfaith Address: "Presence in Suffering: Buddhist Healing Ethics in an Interfaith Context" The College of Saint Rose will present a lecture by Dr. Michael Brannigan of the College’s Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies on Buddhist views of presence and healing in today’s health care system. Saturday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.: Classical Music Phenoms Madelyn and Cicely Parnas The College of Saint Rose will present the two amazing teens from Stephentown in concert to celebrate the release of their debut CD Parnas Double on the renowned Sheffield Lab Recordings audiophile label as a benefit for the new Massry Center for the Arts. Admission is free; donations at the door are welcomed. Location: St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 10 North Main Ave., Albany Thursday, April 10 - Sunday, April 13: Saint Rose Drama Program The College of Saint Rose Drama Program will present “As Bees in Honey Drown,” Douglas Carter-Beane’s satire on fame. Seating is limited and there are no reservations. Theatergoers should plan to arrive well before curtain time. Call (518) 454-5242 for information. Admission is $10, or $5 with a Saint Rose I.D. Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m.: Saint Rose Flute and Clarinet Choirs The program will include works by Vivaldi, Smetana, Burnett and more. Students Sara Ann Shea, Karri Diomede and Jennifer Lehman are the featured flute soloists. Free and open to the public Location: Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary Wednesday, April 16 at 4:30 p.m.: Lecture on Chinese Culture Qiang Xu, Ph.D. will speak on China's economic success and potential problems. Dr. Xu currently serves as chief budget examiner for the economic policy unit for the New York State Executive Department. Refreshments will be served.
