Calendar of Events Spring 2008 March Thursday, March 13 from 1:15 - 3:00 p.m.: Student Seminar with Jonathan Kozol A student seminar with renowned guest Jonathan Kozol, best-selling author and education activist. This exciting event will feature selected top students who will address leading ideas in Kozol's work. This promises to be an inspriing opportunity for both students and faculty. All students and faculty are welcome to this event. Location: Touhey Forum, Lally Hall Thursday, March 13, 7:30 p.m.: Jonoathan Kozol presentation Jonathan Kozol will speak at 7:30pm in the college gym on: “Witnessing for Children: Ethics and Aesthetics in Our Public Schools in the Era of No Child Left Behind.” A book-signing of his two latest books will follow. These are Letters to a Young Teacher (Crown Publishers 2007) and The Shame of the Nation: The Restoration of Apartheid Schooling in America (Crown 2005). This event is open to all, free of charge. Location: Standish Conference Roloms 3 & 4, Events and Athletics Center Thursday, March 27, 7:30 p.m.: Distinguished Scholar Lecture The Department of HIstory and Political Science presents Dr. Mark Petracca, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. His presentation is entitled, "Can God be a Causal Variable in the Teaching of American Politics." Free and open to the public Location: St. Joseph Auditorium March 28, 4:00-6:00 p.m.: Drawing Exhibition and Slide Show Work from Italy Journal: Drawing Through the Centuries and images from the Spring 2008 art and art history study-tour to Rome and Florence Location: Atrium Entrance of the Events and Athletics Center March 28 - April 13: Undergraduate Show A juried exhibition of recent student work including drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
