The College of Saint Rose
Department of Psychology
Research Facilities
The Department of Psychology houses the Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience Research Laboratory. Each of the department's laboratory courses (e.g., Physiological Psychology, Neuropsychology, Sensation & Perception, and Learning) are taught in this lab, and these classes are capped at 12 students per section, ensuring extensive direct faculty supervision and close student/faculty interaction. The lab is arranged with a large common space surrounded by 6 smaller research rooms for conducting experiments and collecting data. One room is a surgical space where small animal neurosurgeries are conducted. Many students elect to acquire research experience by working with faculty or by developing their own research projects. The Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience Research Laboratory is equipped with a variety of tools for examining behavior and cognition in rats and humans, some of which are listed below. |
